Justdispose being a responsible organization towards society continuously work towards creating awareness about hazards hidden in mishandling of E-waste in unsafe manner and processing it in unscientific way. It is a prime responsibility at Justdispose to bring responsibility in common man to understand the bio-hazard hidden in cute looking but non-functional electronic devices.
Justdispose had successfully organized an informational event on “E-Waste Rules for Bulk Consumers” in partnership with the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Central Pollution Control Board and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).
The objective of the Workshop was to discuss and highlight key features of the e-Waste (Management & Handling) Rules 2011 and also to sensitize the bulk consumers on the infrastructural support and facilities available from recyclers.
Shri Rajeev Kumar Mital, Member Secretary, MPCB, Mumbai, Shri Virendra Singh, Director (IT), Government of Maharashtra and Shri UPS Madan, Metropolitan Commissioner, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) attended the Workshop. The event witnessed participation from bulk consumers such as LIC, HDFC, MMRDA, Idea, BPCL, Owens Corning, Tata Power, Yes Bank, Mazagon Dock, Mumbai Port Trust, Vodafone, SBI, TCS, among others.
